I can't believe I JUST saw this movie last night! Wish I had watched it sooner... its so good!!!

Love this clip! It really is a perfect definition of parenthood--"something that can make you so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled altogether". It's a lovely, touching moment in the movie.

Gil's grandmother was played by Helen Shaw (who is most known for this movie). She was 91 here. She died about 14 years ago at 100.

@Snowflake70 lol ppl have better orgasms when they're choking probably becuz they're high from lack of oxygen, and lives flash before ppls eyes during NDE's becuz linear time is an illusion that exists only in the mind, the soul exists on a level higher than that where everything is happening now

I love this scene too but this clip needs the context, how it related to the conversation that Grandma interrupted.

I love this scene, I always quote it.....it is so true.

One of my all time favourite films.

I wish another posted video, not this one, would continue with the rest of the conversation: Karen: She´s a very smart lady.
Gil (said sarcastically)A minute ago l was confused about life. Then Grandma came in with her wonderful and effecting roller coaster story. Now everything is great again.
Karen: l happen to like the roller coaster, okay? As far as l´m concerned, your grandmother is brilliant.
Gil: lf she´s so brilliant, how come
she´s sitting in our neighbor´s car?
This remains the most true-to-life movie I've ever seen.

It was a movie with Bruce Dern as I recall where there was a line spoken:
Perfect paranoia is perfect awareness.
Remember so many people who come back from the brink of death having almost died - saying their lives passed before them? That's a lot in a very short period of time.... Why is it ? How is it people have the most intense orgasms when being almost choked to death? And, they think its a Fun thing to do? Some even die ... fun... hmmm
