I was flying in the rear cockpit of an F-15, callsign Spear 4, that was part of a 4-ship package of F-15s participating in Cope Thunder, a mock air combat exercise at Clark Air Base Philippines. Cope Thunder has since moved to Alaska. We were part of a larger "gaggle" of 20 F-15s providing air cover against F-5 advesary air for a large strike package. Spear 3 filmed video and audio in an early generation Sony cam corder. Flight occured in 1985.

  • Always loved doing rolling formation takeoffs.

  • @skipplet First time I was ever in a rolling takeoff. In my early Phantom days we used to run each engine up separately on the runway to ops check the bleed air check valve. Later we went to runups with both engines.
