7-10.5krpms is where all the power is, thats why. :) if you watch the vid i pretty much stay in that range of RPMs. only limiting yourself to 8k rpm is denying yourself more fun. 8k rpm is about where this motor is making the most power.

06 SV650s here. Nice vid. You have the Dunlop STs (stock) on for this video? If so, impressive lean. For some reason I just don't trust them, but I only have a half inch bare patch on the tires. Still trying to wear into that.

Yep, they were the stock tires. You can lean all the way over if you warm them up properly. =D

Finally a SV650s video on YouTube in my town! I'm just starting the motorcycle process of getting my license and have decided SV650s will be my bike. Probably be a while before I hit up Bent Mountain. Might just stick with 581 at odd hours of the night and Blue Ridge parkway.

ya. on the highway i got my 08 sv650s to 140mph. thats what the digi speedo said. didnt think they could go that fast. btw that was 10.5k in 6th. still had a few more mph to go.
