what does shoot major mean? It means you shoot something, .45 or .40, whatever, caliber. A 9mm and such smaller calibers are 'minor'

Great tips. Could you recommend a good holster(2 mags) for speed reloading with a 1911?

@bllw69 I have a Comp-Tac holster and dual mag holder. I have heard good things about Blade-Tech. I shot with Fobus for a time.
