Re the comment by Zarimus below - I wonder if this was inspired by the 1573 Inquisition hearing of Paolo Veronese for his "Last Supper". I can just see it - "What? No dwarves!?" Veronese' solution was also to rename the painting after another incident in Jesus' life - a party held in his honour by a wealthy tax collector - "The Feast in the House of Levi". Unlike the Pope in this skit, the Inqusition apparently accepted the change of title and nothing more was said.

This is made even funnier by the fact that Leonardo da Vinci was the one who painted the last supper, not Michelangelo.

There is actually such a painting by Paolo Veronese called The Feast In The House of Levi. A last supper painting with dwarves, buffoons, drunken Germans and whatnot. It was supposed to be a proper Last Supper painting and there was quite a scandal about it.
