  • @j0llygr33ng1ant Again, you have no proof, let alone written proof. Your idea of what Irish or Gaelic language is or isn't is in your own mind. Both Modern English and Modern Irish go back to their Germanic and Celtic branches, which in turn go back to an Proto-Indo-European source. You want to argue that the Celtic branch broke off sooner and developed into Modern Irish faster than the Germanic branch? Well be my guest. You'll be laughed out of any serious debates or forums with educated folks.

  • Ok, gotta admit it....I don't understand a word of what she said....but her voice and the music are simply AWESOME!!!!

  • Foregt all this Gaelic stuff. Isn't she just EDIBLE !!! Mmmmmm !!

  • Origins of the people living in scotland are mixed - as well as the scots (Scotti, tribe from Ireland) before that the Picts (slightly mysterious due to lack of written translated language) . Mix in with that scandinavian and northern english influences then later norman french and we are a mongrel race - but who isn't. the trick is to get on together and enjoy the benefits of the cultural mix

  • @yunta51 i think here is where someone is going to say "agree to disagree" lol. I'd say the PIEs have it tho.

  • 6 people are deaf

  • Irish Gaelic and Scotts Gaelic are similar, but some letters have slight pronunciation differences. hope this helps.

  • @yunta51 - a lot of modern day Irish can be DNA traced back to the Iberian pensinsula

  • What a beautiful Woman.

  • @yunta51 Anytime I hear anyone fall back "education" I get suspicious. I love "statictics."

  • my uneducated brain feels like saying "we're all a bunch of vikings"!

  • This is fantastic. Julie, if you tour the States again, please play Sacramento California. I think there are enough people here with Scots/Irish blood to make it worthwhile.

I understand that this song is in Scots Gaelic or Gaidhlig. Just out of curiosity I wonder if an Irish Gaelic or Gaeilge speaker understands a Gaidhlig speaker. Are the two languages similar enough?
