If Martin Luther King and Gandhi can bring peace and freedom with nonviolence we can do it too. It isn't an easy road but it is the only true path to peace. Violence can never bring peace no matter who is perpetrating it. Violent words and hateful thoughts perpetuate violence. Peace is difficult, it starts with truth and willingness to listen. Spewing hateful words only creates more hatred and violence. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Therefore hatred cannot bring peace and compassion cannot bring war. Only through compassion and understanding can peace be acheived.

Be nice. Killing is wrong. If we start killing we're as bad as the killers. Love and understanding is the only way to conquer hate and fear. This guy was right on. He was peacefully protesting. Like Ghandi he used pacifism as a way to expose the atrocities of his oppressor. If we use violence our would be allies turn their backs on us.
