A boy wakes up on his birthday, his only wish is a friend to share it with.

The music is an original composition I wrote for this video.
The piece was originally called "il pleut" but that just felt a bit hipster.. "ooh, look at me, I'm using a few words from a language I don't speak very well." So aye.

I am not really any good as an animator, nor do I claim to be. However I did spend a lot of time on this. I just wanted to relive childhood days where I used to make short cartoons with Deluxepaint IV on my Amiga 1200

I realise cats aren't meant to eat cake but it's a cartoon. It doesn't have to make sense. To that end, I also realise people have noses, shadows don't work that way and rain usually makes the ground a bit wet. Again- Cartoon.

Hmm, I'd have to agree with you there, but I was being assessed on this and was advised that I needed to show some dynamics in feeling, as the overall feel was "too pathetic".

I hate to compromise, but showing a little dynamics helped me get an A for this.

I'll take it on board, though. Been considering putting the original sequence back in there for youtube.
