I really should go to more of my program meetings. As soon as I heard that people were making these videos I thought that UMKC or at least Queer Alliance should make a video. I had no idea that they made one or that they had a Pride Breakfast. oops
this video brought me to tears for two reasons: 1) the messages truly moved me, and 2) because i was stunned and thrilled that UMKC decided to do this! i was blown away not just by the stories from students & staff, but also by the number of administrators speaking out. i can't say enough positives about this video! i'm proud to work here, i'm proud to be getting a degree from here, and i'm hopeful that this kind of support & courage saturates the campus.
This awesome! I am a Clinical Psychologist at KC Free Health Clinic and I could not be more proud of the students at UMKC. When I got the email, I wasn't sure what to expect. I would like to say....WELL DONE!!
This is awesome! I am so proud to live in Kansas City. I work and live near UMKC and I love the diversity of all the students around me as I walk or ride my bike. Every person has a reason for being. Please give yourself a chance. We need all of us to make the world a wonderful diverse place.
I hope all those students, faculty and staff who have worked over the years to make it better for UMKC's LGBT community see this. Thanks for this beautiful video. Things really have gotten better.
It fills me with a great sense of joy to know my school cares about me.
