i was getting so angry at the film with plot holes and unexplained stuff
at 1 point the robber was in the kids bedroom and he says phone him when he has the money or something like that
then the robber just walks away from the boys bed and the scene ends
wtf
the robber was in the house
are you saying he just casually walked out the door down the stairs and hoped for the door to be open or did he hid in the loft untill they left the house with the boy knowing

You might be right about the sub-plot with the robber, but it was based on the book, and thats exactly what happened in the book, and it worked when I read it...

I honestly feel like the robber adds alot to the story. Damain represents those who want to do good for the world selflessly, while his brother represents good people who unfortunately only look out for themselves and rarely think about others. And the robber reprsents the wicked, completely selfish people of the world who take from the good. I think the story wouldnt work without all 3 of these components. to have all basically good characters wouldnt add much or show damians pure heart as well
GREAT MOVIE - A must see - Thumbs up

The robber is the evi" person and makes the movie suspenseful! Damien doesn't ever lose his faith, he's the one that stays faithful though out the whole story!! The robber was, I thought a very good actor. They were looking for someone mysterious, creepy, and frightening, and that is what I thought that the robber was. The situation w/the dad and the other women was just an added thing to make the situation seem more complicated and keep you guessing,I'm glad that they didn't go into it anymore.
