01:37 " im gonna slap it ... actually no"

@dumapies There is seven possible pickup combinations (and you can use any of them on Big Al):
1) Bridge
2) Middle
3) Neck
4) Bridge+middle
5) Brigde+neck
6) Middle+neck
7) All three pickups
So 5-way switch is not enough for Big Al :)

they could of just put a 5-way switch in it instead of all those damm buttons

Not at all actually... It is something to get used to, but it's not an issue to me. That being said, I'm not a big slap player. ;) To me, the tonal variety that you are able to get out of this bass...AND the absolute MAGIC found in the rear 2 pups in SERIES is worth way more than the minor inconvenience of having to adjust your right hand a tiny bit when in "slap mode".
Thanks for the post and peace!

this bass sounds awesome in active mode. It looks like the neck pick up might get in the way or distort the sound when slapping though. was that a problem?

@darrenandsarah123 I'm not a big slap player, so for me no... I find that it is a little tight, but after a day or so of playing with it you figure out where you need to be to get good clean pops. Active mode, all pickup buttons in the off position (rear coils in series) is where the magic is! ;)
