Dan...Have you ever owned or played a Les Paul with the older style PAF pick ups? Whats the difference??

PAF's have a real airiness to them. The notes really compress and then bloom after the initial attack. Very clear sounding, with double tone sizzle on top.

These Skatterbranes are very much like that. These alnico 5's are very similar in frequency response and sizzle on top...and remind me of vintage P90's. The A2 version Skatterbranes sound very much like PAF's.

Skydog, whats the last riff you play, is it from a song or what? lol Btw, Great influence man, I've got a les Paul Myself though it doesn't get played much seeing I've got an SG and I happen to be a Great AC/DC fan lol. The Les paul is great for blues stuff like that, And your pick ups and settings are top class mate.

hey with skatterbranes can i get a good crunch for ac/dc, Led Zeppelin, zz-top? With no covers on the bridge and raised to the highest of course.

Humbuckers are pickups that transmit electrical signals from the strings and allow them to be amplified. They have some reverse polarity thing going on that cancels out a lot of the hum that's normally in single coil pickups.
