Cindy gives an update regarding her status 1 week following her CCSVI liberation where a stent was placed in her twisted/folded azygous vein. She had balloon angioplasty in her minimally stenosed right internal jugular, and azygous vein that was 99% blocked. The balloon angioplasty only achieved 30% azygous flow following 3 balloon attempts a few days prior and likely retwisted/refolded requiring futher intervention.

  • Where did you have it done? Did you have help with the cost?

  • @fredrgray Cindy had the procedure with Dr. Rafael Moguel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We had some help with the cost, but still paid 85% of it ourselves. Still paying for it actually and will be for some time.

  • It sounds like you had a baby not to long ago. Did you notice that your MS went into remission while you were pregnant? This is because the immune system shuts down to a crawl. If it didn't your immune system would attack the fetus.

  • @notapplicable66 There was no significant change with regards to MS symptoms and pregnancy in Cindy's case. I think you need to research and learn more about Immune tolerance in pregnancy as there are several mechanisms in play that prevent an immune response to the fetus. It has nothing to do with the level in which the immune system is activated with MS.

  • @gtube22 I have known 3 women with MS including a ex-girlfriend, who all went into remission while pregnant. Which is why I asked.

  • @notapplicable66 I know that many MS'rs have shown improvement with pregnancy. I don't know of any specific scientific study that explains why though. Perhaps with iron deficiency that is common in pregnancy? Perhaps relaxin hormone making things "more stretchy" allowing better blood flow?

Regardless, Cindy was hoping to feel better durring pregnancy, but it just didn't happen. Then again, she didn't feel worse either durring pregnancy as her MS symptoms have been relatively stable.

  • Hi htube22, It has now been more than 7 months since your liberation treatment. Please can you give us another update on how you are doing?

  • how about another update?

  • yae!!!!!!! my sense is you've caught this nice and early - you look to be about 10 yrs younger than me - I remember being much more mildly effected by my ms back then. more proof how important getting this done as soon as possible is! Thanks for sharing. (lack of money right now keeps me fm getting it done to date)

  • @gtube22 I have been the happiest and healthiest in my life during pregnancy (MS dxd 2002 but I had symptoms earlier - my kids are now 13 yo and 10 yo). I hear you abou the immune sys theory, that never resonated, but the flow of blood theory, how our bodies when pregnant are more loose, in preparation for carrying a fetus and then giving birth, makes complete sense. And of course we are all different. No angio yet due to lack of money but i did get an mrv that shows 40% stenosis in right jg
