Tinsley towers went down on my birthday i was 9 on the day but i was in florida at the time so i missed seeing them go down . i am 11 now and i on my birthday i always remember about them.

The hornblower was the official countdown launcher. She was a young girl who won the BBC Look North competition to do this. It's quite a racket, I'm going to re-edit this and cut the horn out of it.

Yes, there is Andy. I'm in the process of rendering it as we speak and will post in on You Tube when that's done. The first (this)edit is comparatively rough as I did it whilst waiting for my bath water to heat up on Sunday morning, after only 2 1/2 hours kip. The new edit is much better, you'll like this. The irksome claxton is much reduced, now we can hear the blasts, plus there's a slow motion repeat at the end.
