The "Saints" in the only context I believe proper, sending somebody over to Glory. Larmon Maddox, cornet, Jim Ivy, clarinet, Tommy Griffith, banjo, Mark Rubin, tuba.

  • A flugelhorn --sounds interesting!

Not a bad sound -- and I grew up in New Orleans! This is just how we do things back home --before Katrina, that is!

  • No flugel, coronet. Old school "shepherd's crook" model.

  • I want my funeral to be like this! A celebration of my life, rather than mourning my loss!

  • Just dump my body in the river, as long as the music is good.

  • we had this played at my dad's funeral, December 21, 2011. He would have loved it.

  • Sure beats sitting in a church listening to people lie about how they felt about old Whatshisname

  • That gave me chills how beautiful the contrast between how happy and celebrational the music was and the mourning that people often associate with death.

  • Thats not a tuba thats a helicon. The helicon is the cousin to the sousaphone. The sousaphone is the marching form of a tuba.

  • where are the blacks ?

  • If anyone cries or plays Amazing Grace when I die, I will come back and haunt them until they die!

You better have one hell of a party and go on with your lives.

    I ain't coming back!

  • i am form new orleans. death is a time for rejoice not tears. we should all be able to go out in style!

  • My dad used to say that he wanted to out of time to this song. Alas, it's not a very customary song to play at funerals here. We played Amazing Grace for him instead.

  • This sounds like the kind of funeral one would NOT want to miss. What a big sendoff. RN

  • VERY WELL DONE!
