This video was captured using the actual game on an actual Gamecube Game Boy Advance player.
So that didn't take very long. At the time I captured Moto GP I was hoping to hunt down Moto Racer. I visited Chicago this week and found a copy at a Gamestop up there. So here it is. Moto Racer Advance. I absolutely love Moto Racer on the Playstation, and this one is pretty good too.
This game stays true to form with the wheelie boosting that made it famous on the Playstation. Unlike the Playstation version the graphics are all sprite based instead of polygons, but that is a very good thing since the GBA does sprite extremely well and sucks at doing polygons. So what you get is the equivalent of Sega's super scaling as seen in arcades like Outrun and Hang-on. The frame rate is silky smooth and fast. The controls could be a little bit better as you only use the left shoulder button to shift up and down. Shifting up is achieved by accelerating and pressing the left shoulder button and shifting down is achieved by decelerating or braking and pressing the left shoulder button. It takes a little while to get used to. This was done because the right should button is boost. However none of this is any kind of an issue if you use an automatic transmission. Other than that the game play is fantastic and fun. Sound wise it's kind of a bummer that there is no in-game music. Moto Racer on the Playstation had some great music and I kinda wish they had put some music in Moto Racer Advance. It's ok though because the great game play makes up for that.
So this one is it. If you're lookin' for the best motor cycle racing game on the GBA, this is the one to get for sure.
Really big range of view.
