im not planning on going home anytime soon to work for 12 dollars an hour, no overtime pay, pay way more income tax to the nfld government, work for a boss who feels if your not in your fifties you cant operate a skill saw..i know all about nfld i tried making a start there..anyone with any balls and ambition has to leave , and add to that now in small towns there is a major drug problem..only money you can make there now is selling pills or blow to the kids..next generation is in trouble..

I always fell for the Newfoundland economic progress propaganda. Returned 3 times only to find nothing there. You can all talk about how things are turning around, but 15% unemployment is a true fact. The numbers don't lie. I left for the last for the last time 10 years and have amassed considerable savings. Financially independent actually, but I'll never live in NL again. Got burned too many times.

Will ye PLEASE fuck off saying 'newfie' or other variants. This was a term given to us in a derogatory manner years and years ago.
