  • Because it's an injection mould core, the lead-in and run-out of the thread can't be done on a lathe

  • @VLEISBOM You're wrong. The lead-in and run-out of the thread CAN be done in a lathe. Problem is nowadays, all there is are CNC operators and not real Machinists. A real machinist knows how this can be done.
