The first step of the serve focuses on how you position your body at the start of your motion. The stance is how you stand when you hit a serve. The stance is important because positioning yourself properly allows you to move correctly throughout your entire motion.

  • Everyone has different idiosyncrasies but the fundamental elements of the shot are the same from pro to pro.

  • Lol hold your ball in your tossing hand.. This guy is left handed, I am right handed, does that make a difference with these instructions?

  • Many of the things this guy explains, he doesn't really understand what he explains.

    he shows you a way to stand, but it could be the worst way for a certain person to stand in a serve. he shows you a windshield wiper forehand, but he doesn't understand its a forehand only good for a certain grip, and certain height of contact. even though many of the tips are correct, I recommend getting a real coach and not a virtual one like here .

  • Hmm I've been taught a different foot position for serve. back foot paraller with base line and front foot facing directly the base line.
