@GaryCancer I spammed the TSEX30 to Bulb/Periphery the other day. No word on if he checked it out or not, though.
-
what's the name of the vst?
-
Nope... search 'TSEX30'
-
I also have this power amp setup, this makes me want the Engl even more.
-
That would be the LePou LE456, right?
Anyway, been meaning to get one of these, sounds great.

There's a free VST that emulates this specific preamp now. It's not the real thing but it's pretty good... and did I mention it's FREE?
-
you did a killer demo anyways

I found that the E530 is a bit hard to dial in because of the two mid range controls. I found that the Peavey power amp mads a huge difference having the resonance controll to get more low end. This preamp can get quite bright, but it is a killer deal for what they sell for.
If I remember right this is just using a Behringer mixer as a mic preamp, and running into the line in on my Mac pro. I am waiting for steinberg to release MI4 drivers for OS 10.5 so that I can start using cuebase.

Fairly simple setup. MXL condensor, to Steinberg MI4, and for now I just used windows sound recorder. I am in the process of getting my hardware to work on my mac then I will be able to do some really good clips.

check out about 1:24 into the clip. It is a bit blurry, but you can see the exact settings that I used. gain 1:00, contour off, bass 3:00, low mid 11:00, high mid, and high 12:00. I also have the resonance in the power amp at about 11:00, and the presence is quite low. A lot of the sound comes from the WCR pickups.
