We don't tell the truth anymore, some examples, Obama flies to Colorado to sign in front of solar panels to promote green, while buring 20,000 gallons of fuel.

I just did the maths on 20,000 gallons - got it wrong last time. 20,000 (x 3.785 to litres). Then multiply the litres x 11 km's per litre (Golf 5 GTI average) divided by 15,000 km's per year (9,000 miles thereabouts) = 55 years of personal transportation! WOW!

As far as Airforce One, I agree entirely. You do lead by example. But even though he did, doesn't mean he's not doing something positive at the same time. It's a little worrying that some - looking for a scapegoat - can say 'hey, if the president doesn't bother, why should we?'. These are issues bigger than presidents, governments and we all need to put in effort irrespective of some other person's actions.

Two things were left out when the 20,000 gallon figure came out. 1) the Air Force C-17 that flies the armored limousines and support staff, and 2) Joe Biden was there, too. The Prez and Vice Prez NEVER fly in the same airplane. My guess is that you need to be up around 50,000 gallons on that trip.

*sigh* glenn you're dead on, and i'm sad, i'm writing blogs, writing congressmen/women, senators, state government, local government, and i really don't think its doing much of anything. we really are getting close to having to pull out the torches and pitchforks.
