On October 5-7, Dancing Rabbit celebrated its 10th anniversary and reunion, and rabbits present and past joined to commemorate and reminisce about the community. In this episode of DRTV, Tony and Cecil, two of the six original Dancing Rabbit co-founders reflect on the progress and growth of the ecovillage against the backdrop of the reunion celebrations and festivities.

The land on which Dancing Rabbit is situated was originally purchased ten years ago, in October 1997, and since then it has come quite a ways since the days when the community was almost nothing more than a vision.

  • Community aint easy! Congratulations! I am curious to know how much of your own food you grow now. Is the community creating a surplus of energy, ie, money, electricity, food?

  • Wow it has been 10 years. This is amazing. I'm very interested. Keep up the great work.

  • Fucken wack jobs. I wonder how long till they all commit suicide to make a statement. Or one says he is Jesus reincarnated and molests all the kids.

  • @acceptgrace3 not all people are valuble criminals certainly aren't. are you certain that competition is inherently a bad thing. These people can't get their act together and serve as an inspiration and a learning resource to others promoting communes as an ideal alternative to grid living

  • @atfatw Hmmm, the least expensive food my family buys is the local food direct from farmers in our area.

There are turtles in every segment of society. People are different, and all equally valuable and capable of being constructive. Learning to cooperate, to avoid destructive competition, and make decisions by concensus is "what the world needs now"... along with love.

  • @acceptgrace3 its very expensive and a real hassle to buy local you can buy organically grown timber from timber companys. how much more and more? these people move mentally and physically as an eldelry turtle does. instead of productve honest hardwork that gets much enjoyabe results. they like to waste time, a very valuable commodity and BS with endless meetings!

  • @atfatw Friend, are you living off the grid, with one car for every 15 people, in owner-built houses largely constructed of local, natural materials-- like the good folks at Dancing Rabbit? They're growing more and more of their own food, and they're not stressing about getting some of it from the local organic farmers living near them.

  • @jeffthecoder the ideal commune (the only one thats worthwhile) grows all its own food dancing rabbit sure is a sorry ass thing!

  • @atfatw oh.. if they still shop at the grocery story and shyte then what is the point? I see where u r comin from now =P

  • @jeffthecoder whats all that crap 'living in tune with nature' mean. These people in their website say they only grow a small percent of their food they still purchase the bulk of their foods.

  • @jeffthecoder just what is this 'unlimited free energy' you speak of? incidentally, people have to have others making decisions for them as they are wretched and inferior.

  • @atfatw There is a truth about the "modern society" that is very ugly. You are likely too young to know about the truth.

Once a person knows the truth of what happens behind the curtain to make life in the USA as it is, they would have to be "mentally ill" to continue living by that system.

Did you know that unlimited free energy was discovered over 50 years ago? No? Youtube search "american dream cartoon" to find out why there is still hunger on earth instead of everyone being free.
