US wanted to induce USSR intervention, they succeeded, then aided Mujahideen especially in Pakistan through Operation Cyclone, USSR was defeated, the expectation for the US and other Western and foreign aid to help establish the infrastructure and other areas of the country was not met and as a result resentment formed. Is that a summation? Yes, very much so, but for the purpose of this argument it suffices, its a supporting point, not a focal point.

not true... OBL wanted all western help GONE ASAP. He and his muja fighters are fundamentalists, do not, and never have liked the west. We were an ally of convenience, against a common enemy.

No doubt, fundamentalist were always in favor of disposing of Western aid, but the general sentiment from the masses was the expectation of western aid, OBL used propaganda to make it seem as is if it was just the abandonment from the west that ruined them, he used it as a recruiting tool, and fed off the sentiment of the masses.

Well good for you, at least you stand behind your beliefs. But I stand by words. There are alot of people who are all for this war, but when it come to them going over themselves, they find reasons not to go, and they continue to shoot off their mouths about it. I run into them on the streets every day, and I say the same thing to them. So I belive I have chosen my words wisely.

Yep. I've followed McBush since he was held at the Hanoi Hilton. He made anti-US propaganda tapes for the communists in order to get better treatment. He hooked up with his present "wife" for her money and connections. This idiot wants attention....ANY way he can get it. His solution now to EVERY problem is force...war.
