It's alright, I'm just as immature as you.

A new Jaimie video never fails to brighten my day.
My brother is also a fan of yours, and together we are currently in the planning stages of out own Super (but not giant) Robot project purely for Awesomeness.
You're an inspiration is what I'm saying I guess.

I took me 39 years to realize that home made stuff has more character, is cheaper, and likely more durable. And if it breaks, which is usually doesn't, you can just make it again and usually better. Modern man has lost his way but some of us are getting back to our roots. Way to keep it simple yet elegant.

Whats up with those chains on your wrists. Did you escape from the loony bin?

@hakachukai the smoke will take the path of least resistance.. so if your flue works like it should your door will not leak... downdraft should be your concern. Also the heat from the flame will naturally make the smoke rise... and of course the smoke itself is hot.. so on and so on... Do a burn with your stove outside first to see it things are working as they should.

Cool, thanks for the info! I think I'm going to make a vogelzang double barrel stove.
I love that you made your own stove. It is so brilliant. But as winter is once again upon us I think it is time to upgrade mr. burns again.
It seems you might have a problem with air. Fire needs oxygen, and lots of it. The only way to get air into your stove is to open the door. Why not add an air vent to the stove?
The other thing you might want is to make use of all the hot unburnt gases that goes up the chimney. Add more air to that mixture and you can get a second fire and more heat.

Well.... actually there is an air vent. ....right under the door. Its been there for 5 years. :-P
As for the secondary combustion. ...I'm working on it. I have the parts..... just need to make it a priority.

How did you get the door to not leak smoke?
I'm working on making a barrel stove right now, and that is my only real concern... how to keep smoke from leaking out.

make sure your stovepipe goes up a lot. "They" recommend 11ft. Lots of stovepipe height will allow all that hot air to shoot up the pipe, and create suction in the stove.
Other than that, make all your connections good. Use stove gasket.
Oh, and it'll smoke a bit when you first start the fire... at least mine does.
