This road is crazy. I just got back from Pigeon Forge, TN, we took Dragon's Tail from Cherokee, NC to get there. I heard there were about 318 turns, I wasn't expecting them to make my belly flip. Especially the super sharp turns. We were 3 cars deep, the lead car at times I'd look and see them on the other side. Oh boy. And how the 18 wheelers make it? Anyhoot, I think everyone should experience the road if possible :-)

Just got a '99 Tiger this weekend. Can't wait to visit my friend in Boone, NC and give this road a go! Must have been very early since there was no traffic. Thanks.

Sounds quite meaty for the standard pipe, mine was really quiet so I put a Quill on it which has a nice, deep note.
Good vid - very smooth. Did you dampen the camera mount or was it just a smooth road? :-) Be good to know how you had the camera mounted...

i use a RAM mount on the handlebars with no dempening. even on a rough road it comes out nice

I used the same on a recent trip and whilst the vid was good, the camera didn't like it and packed up after an hour or so of vid - vibration upset the tape drive. Was using a Sony mini dv tape cam, what cam do you use?

i had a triumph Sprint ST and tried my sony mini DV on that and also had a problem with vibration. I decided to try my regular digital camera, casio 7.1 mega pixel point and shoot camera on the video function. It works awsome. i have a 2gb memory stick in it and that gives me hours of use. i just finished a trip from California to Niagra Falls and got some great footage. Hope this helps

That's a nice road, what pipe are you using? Cheers, Anth.

For this trip I had the standard pipe on the bike, I had a performance pipe which was great for fuel economy, extra 5MPG but was loud
