  • I'm always so in awe of how people like you do this so effortlessly! I'm taking a ceramics class now and really looking forward to learning how to work with the wheel.

Quick question: I know it's a functional working teapot, right? But is it recommended to actually make the tea in something like this, after it's fired and glazed and finished?

  • @KwartzKitten I have learned a great deal since this video and no, I would not make tea in a pot like this. It would work hold water and pour, but there is sooooo much more. someday I'll make another video

  • why do people pull it up when centering and push it back down and repeat?? never got that

  • @Kranatonos Well the smart ass answer would be "because it works" but Centering can be done quicker by spreading the pressure needed to do it over distance and time. coning up allows you to effect a smaller amount as you cone down. it also adds a some stretch and strength if your doing it right.

  • So how do you insure your lid is the right diameter? I've never thought of making a lid this way, thanks!

  • you make the gallery for the lid to fit the lid. You can make the lid a bit larger and trim it at leather hard to fit perfect.

  • @Kranatonos it compresses the clay better and faster

  • your wheel sound like airplane i want

  • @Kranatonos It is like wedging on the wheel making the clay consistent and smooth. You can get the dense clay to the center and the rest evenly around the outside. It feels like compressing a spring getting tighter and tighter. That is what I do so I can get tall thin forms.

  • How many pounds of clay did you use in this demo? Very inspiring work incidentally.

  • inspirational! he's got amazing upper body strength. not to mention amazing skill! i love this video...

  • I like your teapot, I have learned a lot more from you than from my teacher lol ..
