Thanks for posting. Too bad the reality of train travel at that time was anything but was conveyed within these ads. Things are much better now.

Beginning at 1:36, I recall how the Amtrak CEO at the time really put his heart and soul into selling the American traveler on "flying without leaving the ground" - not to mention defending the company from the ax which Messrs. Reagan, Stockman, et al were anxious to bring down on the company. Thank you, Mr. Claytor.

@Kayushi it did. the station is used by Caltrains now. its the old SP Oakland Station.
