The major fund raising activity for Sport Relief is the Sport Relief Mile a series of sponsored runs up and down the country. Our brief was to raise awareness and generate sign-ups for these mile events amongst our core target audiences of a) families with young kids and b) 18-24yr olds.
So we chose to combat the likely response of I cant be arsed to go running or that sounds difficult with the inertia-busting reassurance that just about anyone can do it without any training, thereby making us all Mile Ready.
The Mile Ready campaign is fronted by an enthusiastic young girl who wants to recruit her whole family for the Sport Relief Mile. Later in the campaign she also infiltrates the BBC to start recruiting various presenters etc. She also appears on radio dishing out none-too-taxing instructions to get you Mile Ready.
