yes, strieber did have a doctor's visit after a bad experience with strange beings, but it was bud hopkins, an artist and amateur alien-abduction hypnotist, whom he went to first for therapy, before going to a licensed psychiatrist to be examined. one would expect that if a man was seriously worried that he might be psychotic, he would go immediately to medical professionals for help; not go to an amateur hack hypnotist who specializes in treating his suspected delusions as being real.

@Jayoung1000 I don't recall the details but for now, taking your word for it: It's not as if he claimed to be the prophet of a supposedly omnipotent omniscient trustworthy god. Maybe he misunderstood. Maybe the aliens lied. Maybe they changed their minds. Maybe they made some mistakes. Maybe what they told him was based on what they were told by other aliens. Those predictions not coming to pass is absolutely no evidence that there is no truth to his story.
