The New Zealand/Australia pulp culture expo strikes three times in a year here in New Zealand (and I have no idea how many times in Oz). Big ol' Auckland City maybe the last on the schedule for the year, but it's decently grandeous.

Even though it's months over-due, the footage is finally here. The first part is relatively boring show-and-tell chatter. This second part is also fairly boring, but WAAAAAAAAY longer, and shows you actual (boring) footage from the event. I promise that 2011's footage will be a lot better.

Props to the guys that I spent the day with at Armageddon for being good sports and making it fun.

  • Plus, the 3DS launch titles are pathetic. Okay, a great version of Rayman 2 which is a great game, but SERIOUSLY? Another version of Rayman 2? I want Rayman 4 already. The only one I'm vaguely interested in is Super Street Fighter IV. Oh, and we're getting the Nintendo 64 treatment again. Unfortunately, I don't mean Ocarina of Time, as that won't be coming out for some.... time... But instead, they're going to append "3D" to half the damn games. I also wish it wasn't so cheap. I'll just wait.

  • @TCJJ well region locking for the dsi is fine by me because the console is about to be overtaken so there wont be a wait for games i guess, i know next to nothing about the dsi i wasn't that interested because of the price ,oh and im also interested in phoenix wright vs professor layton i haven't finished either of there games but looks cool haha,i wanted battle revolution when i first saw it because of the online and pretty graphics but i lost interest fast

  • @TCJJ yeah i know the red looks awesome i always look at it when i go to jb hi fi lol i think im with u on that one ill hold out till a redesign comes out idk about u but the d-pad looks awkward especially for my hands lol...i just hope the zelda and metal gear solid:snake eater remakes are good ill be sure to pick those 2 up and the resident evil games if they are good but they look like they will be short maybe street fighter seeing how i didnt bother with them on 360 or ps3

  • @linkszxx Region-locking is in the DSi as well but not for NDS games - only DSi games, which can be played region-free on the DS but have special DSi features (such as camera features) on the DSi and are region-locked. It does suck, and I agree that Super Street Fighter IV is the only one that I am vaguely interested in too.

That wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl really WAS torture. So was the wait for Pokemon Battle Revolution (which wasn't really worth it, despite the pretty graphics).

  • @linkszxx My DS is a bit broken, but I just bought a new shell for it from Deal Extreme. Not official, but a good quality replacement. The gold was the best quality and best-looking one, so I went with that (I have the original silver one). The XLs do look awesome. I like the ones with the black trim - especially the red one. I'm thinking about buying one. They'll probably come down in price once the 3DS comes out. I might buy one before a 3DS and wait for a better 3DS to come out.

  • @TCJJ im also abit undecided but i do need a new handheld since my ds is kinda broken,i might wait till the good games start rolling in the only one that id want right now that is suppose to launch at release is super street fighter 4 .yeah im sure they will make it like a 3ds XL those dsi XLs do look badass lol really region lock? damn that sucks so now i gotta wait till the games release in nz/aus .i hope the wait is not like super smash bro. brawl that was torture lol

  • @linkszxx The 3DS is one that I'm still undecided on. I got an email from EB Games (their newsletter) saying that they were getting them on the 1st of March, presumably to demo in their stores. Converting from Australian dollars, the NZ price was $450, but EB Games priced the 3DS at NZ$479. If it weren't for the stupid region-locking, I'd import the US one, because it's the cheapest (about NZ$350 plus shipping). It seems like a good system, but I reckon the next revision will be better.

  • @TCJJ i hope to god they have the 3ds..oh its very amusing. i dont like when adults/teens hog it tho cus i kid will eventually get bored n walk away greedy adults not so much.like the l4d2 set up they had in 2009 people just passed it to their friend n then they passed it back n so on

  • @TCJJ i thought he was ok i do wish they had given him more iconic b specials cus snake pretty much much got his whole arsenal of weapons and sonic gets a spring an dashing give idk give him a ring to throw? throw some little animals lol yeah brawl needed dlc but idk if the wii can do dlc?? lol and a good single player i hate sub space lol. yeah maybe this year i remember a few years back they had super mario galaxy and metroid prime 3...i was in heaven and now they dont even have a booth

  • @linkszxx Personally, I think it's hilarious when the kids go up against teenagers/adults and get taught a lesson for hogging the damn thing. It's rather amusing to watch.
