The classic line... "I know my place". Cleese, Barker and Corbett take the pee out of the English class system. Upper, middle and lower classes.

A friend of the family who used to know Ronnie told me some years ago that Ronnies wife had an affair with Alan Minter (the boxer) so Ronnie paid to have Alans fingers broken.
Can anyone confirm this?

I wonder - is this still the case today? Has the class system really gone away?

I believe that this was originally on "The Frost Report." Since I've never seen an entire installment of this show, I can only guess. When Frost came to the US, his writers attempted to do an American version of this sketch. It wasn't as funny because it made the Upper Class (thru Vincent Price, I think) look snooty and superior, the middle class desperate but bland, and the lower class crude and dumb. Accurate, I guess, but not as funny as The Original.

Bravo. I cannot help thinking there's a tiny bit of Samuel Beckett here.
