21-01-2012 Orca and Humpbacks

Today was an exceptional day with regards to the weather and whales. We sailed once again from Hafnarfjörður in the hope of having the experience of yesturday. It was better, two Humpback Whales and a family of Orca all taking advantage of the abundance of herring in the area. We got to see the humpbacks tail many times as they go for a deep dive and even got to see him/her rolling on occasion. The Orca was also incredible as they surfaced close to the boat. We also saw many seabirds including Eider Ducks, Cormorants, Gannets, Gulls, Kittiwakes and Fulmars. Another amazing day at sea.
