Former Australian cricket star Jason Gillespie and I begin a documentary of his first-class coaching appointment in Zimbabwe.

HOW DO YOU THINK JASON WILL FAIR IN AFRICA, AND WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE FROM THIS DOCUMENTARY?

He won our hearts on the pitch, and he'll surely do it again as a leader, encouraging change for Zimbabwean cricket.

Jason had me all-inspired after an interview during the 2009 Ashes in London, with his genuine warmth of character, rich insight, and desire to help people learn from his experiences. I very much look forward to seeing how this trip grows him and his family.

  • What an interesting story, I think it would be really interesting to see more on a familiar face as they take on a life changing move. With the current political state of cricket as it is, a candid real life take on events behind the game could be just what the sport needs.

  • It'd be great to follow them as they leave Australia. Shadow Gillespie's work and see how it turns out for the family as well as the cricket team. To see how they all develop. To meet the team see their thoughts and reactions to Gillespie.

  • Good work Summer! I'd be really interested to see the transition for Jason!

  • Way to find and illustrate a captivating story. Definitely creates interest in the human story of Gillespie and his new team while keeping the sports story at the forefront. Your voice and technical abilities appear professional quality. Cheers to believing in yourself, we do!

  • Awesome, can't wait to see how this one plays out! Gillespie was always inspirational as a player and it's very interesting to see this stage of his career.

  • Can't wait to see the next instalment of what sounds like a rare glimpse inside first class cricket in Zimbabwe. With other nations withdrawing support for sporting tours to the country, Gillespie’s story may provide a unique opportunity to discover first-hand the positive changes he hopes to be a part of.

  • Hey summer, hope that this comes off for you. Be interested to see how he follows the Ashes from afar and what his thoughts are! Great to see someone trying something different. Good luck!

  • I really hope your doco goes to air. I'd love to know how a down to earth dude and his very cute family (from my home town no less) copes with the mass upheaval of moving from comfort of what's always been to the unknown of a thrid world war torn country. Seeing Dizzy mentor and coach underpriveliged kids has gotta be interesting viewing don't you think!
