Thank you!

@BigDuke6ixx Then they aren't going to be very useful as stakes.

@aimsuxdoggydills rubbish, of course the bags will completely come out. Why wouldn't they?

Bill,
I was not saying you left anything behind or anything like that. I was just putting in my $.02 on how I would improve upon your great idea with something I could reuse. I don't have any plastic shopping bags as I use the reusable ones, which I am sure would work just as well.
Thanks again for the great idea. I would love to see more videos of your snow camping adventures.

If it is damp snow and then freezes I can't see how you will get the bags out without an ice axe.

@mnthomas1946 We have never had a problem digging them out with our snow shovels. However, we do carry a wood axe and could easily chop through any iced up snow to retrieve the bags.

Better off finding a few sticks, or half burying a coffe can lid. You'll never get those bags out completely.

@aimsuxdoggydills Actually, we are far better off using the bags. We have years and years of experience with this, and we have never, ever, had any trouble digging the bags back out.

Very good idea, thanks for sharing. We are getting ready for some snowshoeing and camping, so this will be very useful. I am going to go one step beyond this and use some canvas shopping bags I have. I would hate to use plastic or take the chance of it being left behind.

Thank you.
We have always been very careful with our "Leave No Trace" policy, and we have never left any plastic behind.
