Thanks for the detail. We are using the cheapest iPod touch for video, processing and publishing (great for training community groups) but aspire to increasing quality for certain projects.
We ended up with the Zoom H2 after trying a few other options. Have a rode mic going into one.

@jtcurragh Well, those iPods are great. And the zooms are great too, though I had to tweak for a whiel to get rid of wind ad contact noise. Seems ok now.

Your videos are really good.
The unmarked stones are mostly likely not famine graves at all. Just uninscribed headstones for graves. A certain class of farmer would use these stones as it conformed with their social status, or how they wanted to portray themselves to society. The markers were morphologically distinctive and were used to mark family graves (for example, the Murphys have the flat-topped stone being the tree on the southern path).
Again excellent videos.

@jtcurragh Many thanks JT - that's fantastic information. If it's ok I might include it in the description of the video. I have clearer footage of this same graveyard that I must get around to uploading at some point. Thanks again!

@thebettyfordclinic You are welcome. Could you tell me what gear you use? Software and hardware?

@jtcurragh Your own vids are pretty impressive by the way. This clip was a Nokia N95 edited with Quicktime Pro. Recent clips are a Panasonic GF1 with the stock zoom lens for video (the pancake for photography). Very occasionally I will have my tripod with me and these clips are a lot steadier. The Dundrum / Nahi's clip was a borrowed Canon 5DII with my tripod. Editing is now Final Cut Pro and sometimes Colour. Soundtrack Pro for audio. I now also use a Zoom H1 for better quality audio.
