No surprise. SimpleTech doesn't make their own HDDs for any of you in the comments that don't know. Only Manufacturers of HDDS now are WDC, Seagate, Hitachi (WDC bought them), Samsung (Seagate bought them), Toshiba (2.5 and 1.8 inch only), and there used to be Fujitsu, Maxtor and Quantum (bought by Maxtor in 2000) this last decade.

I HAVE THE SIMPLE TECH 500GB MODEL THAT STOP WORKING ALSO NO CLICKING JUST THE LIGHT COMES ON AND EVERY COMPUTER I HOOK IT UP TO DON'T SEE THIS HARD DRIVE WHAT GIVES ANY SOFTWARE UPDATE OF ANY SORT OR AM I DOOMED TO A LOST UNUSABLE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

This is a great video. I'm sad to say I've bought several these drives and they're just terrible. The Buffalo brand is even worse

my simpletech simpledrive ii 1TB 2.0 usb didnt work sometimes.
it sems its either dying out or properly the power supply.
i feel u bro.
best i get harddrives from Western digital.

I have the same problem with the hitachi hd, all of them!

Head crash maybe. Do you remember moving this around while it was on? If so it is possible you broke it by moving it while it was on. just a theory.
