The weather forecast was gloomy for the early part of the day. Please, know this; the heart and soul of any rescue group are the volunteers. The dedicated volunteers know what glooming is. It is not the weather. It IS a gloomy future, for the dogs and cats that they DONT get to before euthanasia. Gloomy is a terminal diagnosis. Gloomy is not having enough funds for food or vet bills.
I salute everyones dedication, to the animals in their care. Setting up a booth, getting volunteers, loading the dogs and cats, tracking the paperwork, and following up on application, are enough challenges for a group to participate in an event. The dedicated volunteers went the extra mile. They packed the side tarps, brought extra towels and blankets. Rain coats, umbrellas, and warm hugs and kisses. A volunteer knows it only takes one right application to find the right forever home for one of their kids. They march on
.
Constantly giving to the animals.

Brave and Dedicated!

AND THEN,

came the sun!! and the guests! The street filled with excitement .Loving homes looking for that right pet! Meet and greets everywhere! Applications and donations! Smiles! Tails wagging! New friends made!

I have to wonder. Maybe, it was the warm hearts, and radiating energy of the dedicated volunteers that blanketed the street with brightness?

After all, rescue volunteers perform miracles every day.
