-
@kuma607 The Welsh invented the english longbow and showed the english how to use them...Fact! so get it right up youz.
-
oh and i remember the saying that a lowbow is a stick that is nine tenths broken
-
@englandforever the training required and the longbow itself was offten provided by the church. everyman between 14 and 50 was required to train in its use. thats why the english were such successful archers and that is also why ninty percent of the time you will find yew trees on church grounds
-
Ever heard of knights? Guys trained from the age of six their entire life to fight in the most expensive war gear of their time and you think the French were inherently incapable to organize a system to make a bunch of free men train a type of bow everyone in Europe built?
The French raised their own designated longbow corps in the 14th century and professional archers were known throughout Europe. There was just no rigid social system built around it like in England.
-
@kMondrakken The French wanted to use long bows (warbows) but due to the fact that it took at least 10years of training to be able to build up the back and shoulder muscle and natural aiming ability to use one, they could not. Its still not really known how England got so many people to be trained and able to use the warbow, specualtion is that the bow became popular in recreational use at tournaments, and also for hunting game, so by 1415 there was thousands of able Longbowmen ready for battle

@amandeis Wo hast Du Englisch gelernt?
English for runaways?

strange that all those terrified Europeans didn't have a particular love of longbows and still needed plate armor even though the English were not very active all around Europe, everyone could build longbows, England imported yew wood from germany and the prime military powers to shape European warfare all remained outside England....
might this little clip be a little sensationalistic, ignoring that England needed the longbowmen because they couldn't afford better and more expensive?

i love that at 0:12 some of the arrows being shot from the back row barely make it over the heads of the people in the front row. haha
What's the number 1?,Why the "Mensch" are the top?

@MrHavok999
The "Mensch" (man) was at the top because he is the most effective and reliable weapon.
Without knives and mace, he can kill with his bare hands.

@morello64
Keine Erfindung,...
