Roland GS Sound Canvas specification
device used: Roland SC-880 Pro

The Sharp X68000 home computer had internal MIDI I/O ports, that allowed you to plug some MIDI devices like controllers and synthesizers.
But some games for X68000 were designed to take advantage of external MIDI synthesizers to play the game soundtrack using different sound sets.
I found this really nice, so I decided to make a test on this old machine, and record the 3 different synthesizers, using the game Akumajo Dracula (aka. Castlevania).

  • @VectorOmega I never tried, but if the earlier models have compatibility with the Roland Sound Canvas, I think they can. Now you make me wonder, how it would sound like in a Fantom ;-)
