Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God's holiness (His nature) requires the absence of sin. Without pardon nobody gets heaven. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (you addressed several good points ineedmoreroom! :) Keep asking the good questions!

I am convinced 100% that being born again and leaving a prayerful, repentant & obedient life to the end - trusting in Jesus, is the only way to make heaven and avoid hell. @mickymorrison Of course not, God loves you and believes in you, even if you don't believe in him, we (as Christians) believe that if you are truly trying to peruse truth, God will not look down on you, and we believe that if you truly peruse truth and the meaning of your existence, you will find God.
