9:44 Notice as John says no reports of structural damage you see a power flash across the river on the live video feed.

Ah, the NWS. I have tremendous respect for them, but they severely over warn for tornadoes. I know that with events like this one, called QLCS (Quasi-Linear Convective Systems) that is a challenge, and spin-up tornadoes are likely. Personally, I think the straight line winds are the larger more imminent threat with these events, usually. If I was working this event, I would stress that the tornado threat from this is not the classic one, but that the situation is still very dangerous.

@kamacurusable On the contrary, I think they're some of the best in the region. Mark Weinberg used to be a storm chaser, and could easily get a PhD as a meteorologist. Jay Cardosi has experience from being in the midwest as a meteorologist. John Belski, who is in this video, has an excellent understanding of the weather and can convey it to the audience as well as anyone I can think of. Kevin Harned has a degree from Purdue, and can also convey weather to the public very well.

Louisville news is completely worthless there is one guy jay Cardozie or something, he is the worst weatherman in the country, the other worthless one is mark something he has huge ears and he acts like he makes the weather and then tells you about it as if you were a 2 year old. wankers.

is the radar they are using esp live?

John Belski I missed you tuesday during our tornado outbreak. You always were and always will be my favorite. I'm glas Kevin Harned trained under you. One day, he will be great too.
-
John belski, you were the best Louisville ever had.

I live in Scott County in Indiana (which is Austin)

No Problem.. I just actually have timed IEM vs. NWR and our IEM is actually (on average) about 20 seconds FASTER than IEM, and since IEM gets the warning and places a link to the warning text in the alert.. I find it better. But, thats just me. ;)
never seen a station use a NOAA weather radio on the air. cool :)

Faster is always better (Every second counts in any situation) (especially a tornado) but the reason I like NWR is because it alerts me, wherever I'm at automatically, even at night - when I'm asleep and not near a TV/Computer. And When the power goes out?? NWR still works. I'm not quite familiar with IEM but I'm interested...
