Recently, John Piper invited Rick Warren to be a keynote speaker at Desiring God 2010.
Matthew Henry was a 17th and early 18th Century minister of the Gospel in Chester, England, and died in 1714. Quoting Charles Spurgeon: "First among the mighty for general usefulness we are bound to mention the man whose name is a household word, Matthew Henry. @filoIII No he doesn't, and seeing you say such things, you may not either yourself. 2nd Corinthians chapter 13v5 says; "Examine yourself to see if you be in the faith, test yourself" all i am asking you to do is what scripture already commands you to do.

@margovallen I'm sorry friend. I don't like arguing and I'm not trying here. But your comment has no scriptural basis. The argument for free will is made from a position of scriptural silence. Jsus Himself clearly said to His disciples that they didn't choose Hoim but that He chose them. The scripture again says - Many are called but the chosen are few. Please search out the scriptures. We see God's sovereignly decreeing His will over man all the time. Salvation is all grace! God bless!

Desiring God only after being born-again may very well be factual. God calls all and few heed His call. Those of whom heed the call are doing so by faith. They hear the Word and are prompted by God to believe by faith. Those become born-again then in time, develop a hunger for God and the things of Him.
Those of whom do not heed God's call, perish. God give us free-will to choose to heed His call or not. His love for us doesn't over-power His Will for us. "Love does not insist on it's own way."
