1. By encouraging everyone to go to college, you're basically lowering the value of a college degree and that is not a good thing. You'd be turning "higher education" into advanced secondary education.

2, Half the population is either not cut out to be a white collar professional or just isn't smart enough to succeed in fields that require a college degree, such as engineering, accounting, and finance.

3. Most jobs do not require a high level of intelligence/education to perform well.

$71 billion dollars was the 2011 budget for D of Education

There is plenty of money in education its just not going to the schools. Its going to the upper echelon of the government workers and paper pushers.

I think this idea could work but not in our current system. Its to corrupt. Look what happened to the atlanta school system? Something like 180 teachers caught cheating for more funding..You heard about that right? Some parents even said it was ok that the teachers cheated.

well i'm gunna cry bullshit imo. its just the government getting kids use to reciving a handout "social sec. check at an early age" it's a way to control

problem is it might make kids nowadays even more spoiled and feel entitled - like they have to be bribed in order to want to pass. i know some parents give their kids $ for good grades, passing, etc and that can be a good thing i guess - but maybe should be left up to parents. if the achievement of passing and working hard for the sake of it/their future isn't good enough, i fear for the future generations. but i'm sure there are pluses too, such as for disadvantaged kids, it would help them

i got something like that in high school we got a check every 2 weeks, it was nice

I think it's cool to get money if you pass. But isn't getting a diploma good enough?

If anything I think they should give kids money to start school for like shoes,cloths,etc. Have that based on income.
