I've been getting into the realm of long distance, more recently...

In your honest opinion, do you think a .308 could reach out to 1 mile?

accurately? no. it will get there but don't expect to hit anything. 1100 yards is about the farthest you'll want to shoot a 308.

@diderr01 300wsm is not a 308. no bullet will not stay stable at that distance from a 308 not enough bullet spin or speed. it will travel that far but you would have more luck throwing rocks.

I never said it was. a 300 wsm shoots a .308 bullet. I said a 308 win will have trouble past 1100 yrds.

@diderr01 im not trying to troll- but there is a vid on .308 at 1500yrds. the shots are prety concistant too. the 30cal bullet is very accurate round when reloaded correctly. iv personnally have hit 25x25 steel at 1780yrds with mine using a 200gr bullet. when i get the time ill give you my link when i post a vid.

nice work, I have a 300 wsm, and it's filled my freezer with meat. I have been wanting to get out to some open ground to do some long range shooting (this summer), my club has 300 yard max. What kind of optics are you using? My Leupold 4.5-14x40mm might not be good enough. also what kind of loads? I'm in SW. Washington
