1920x1080 <--- you see 1080!?!?!
The term usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a resolution of 1,920 pixels wide by 1,080 high. This resolution is similar to that of 2K digital cinema technology. The frame rate can be either implied by the context or specified after the letter 'p', such as 1080p30, meaning 30 progressive frames per second.
CoreAVC is the only software that plays everything without problems on my pc.
VLC Player with it's build in codecs just won't do . And neither will the latest version of PowerDVD on my system, because my CPU is just to slow for those programs.
Software: Media Player Classic Home Cinema & CoreAVC.
To enable the CoreAVC codec in MPC-HC : Go to View > Options > External Filters > Add Filter, then select CoreAVC and make sure the "prefer" option is selected.
Plays AVCHD, Blurays and .m2ts files all without lag. Together they use about 170-180MB memory and about 40% CPU with AVCHD and 80% CPU with m2ts and blurays.
@bmw2go11 Yeah, sure. I have an LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray Combo-Drive. Ive had it for 2 and half years now, but still works like a charm. I Also received a free version of Cyberlink PowerDVD V7 Ultra with the Blu-ray package when i bought the Combo Drive. I Recently upgraded my playback software to Cyberlink PowerDVD V10 Ultra. But im stil having trouble playing the Avatar Blu ray title.
@bmw2go11 But I have a Geforce 9600 GT which is powerful enough to play blu ray. My computer can currently play the most recent blu-ray films. Avatar is the only problem im having. Thanks
I was thinking of buying an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz for my computer. Do you think thats enough to run a Blu Ray movie smoothly?? My Avatar Blu ray movie is currently having playback issues. Glitches of huge pixels pop up during every frame. My current processor is an Intel Pentium D 945P(yeah, its getting old). 3 m

@MTERM775 you probably need to look into buying a new graphics card more than a new processor...
