This is a demo of the acoustic side of my live pub show. Just me and my Traveler Escape MK II Steel acoustic and a Digitech Vocalist Workstation doin the harmonies live off the floor into a Zoom H2 2 track recorder runnin off my little Digitech mixer. Someone asked me if the harmonies were pre recorded. The answer is no they are produced live in real time. The Traveler guitar has an L.R. Baggs acoustic pickup under the bridge which is what youre hearin here. Its being run through a Roland VG 99 to add some compression and reverb and that is it.

  • ...Very well done...Alex. Looks like you've been at that awhile.

  • @vachief hey thanks. Its a living.

  • @alexmcginness ..Hey, if I was interested in learning to play the guitar, would you recommend those travel guitars? Most guitars, the neck seems to wide for my hands so I gave up years ago.

  • @vachief I bought this one because the airlines were getting touchy with taking a big bag with two axes in it as carryon. Its a decent guitar for the price. Around $500 US. The kneck on this one is fairly wide and is the same scale length as a stratocaster. Your best bet would be to go to a store that has one and give it a try. This one is the escape MK II buy Traveller. They make a bunch of models. Check out their site.

  • There seem to be some kind of attachment at the lower front of the guitar, is it some kind of 2nd pick up beside the build in one? Would you please explain what is it and what is it for?

  • @thetexaseagle yeah theres a roland GK-3 pickup on it. I use the built in piezo pickup for acoustic sounds and the GK running into a roland VG-99 for all the electric sounds. You dont hear the 99 in this video as this was an acoustic only promo for the agents. Im planning to put up a vid wuth the 99 and the elevtric guitar side of it.

  • @thetexaseagle i use to travel with a big box Takamine and a strat. The acoustic sound in this is usable but not as "acoustic" as the Takamine. The kneck is the same scale as a strat. Its a great road guitar as it only cost around $550 Canadian. The great thing is that its about the size of a big tennis racket so its no problem gettin it on a plane as carry on luggage.

  • Thanks for posting, you are indeed a pro! The guitar seem to be a special small size Traveler guitar. How is it compare to "regular" size acoustic guitars that you know?

  • @stodd32 Its a pretty good guitar. I bought it as I needed a guitar that could be taken as carry on and had a decent acoustic sound. I stuck a GK pickup on it to get the electric sounds out of the vg-99. It plays well but its a real pain to change the strings, so I put a set of Planet Waves locking tuners on it. That cut the time to change strings in half.
