  • swinging into the bank? = swinging into the bank!

  • You are my idol.

  • As good as this is, I,ve fished from Linton through Hebden, Burnsall and Bolton Abbey and used the traditional method of Across and Down for 50 years or more with Spider Pattern flys...sure I,ve drawn blank, but I,ve had some excellent days well into double figures.

  • I have had a lot of success fishing across and down, funnily enough on the Wharfe lower downstream. It amazes me how I can catch using this method but it does work!

I have no doubt that this guys method is better, however!

  • I too have caught trout on the across and down swing method but what Mr. Edwards is saying is that the across and down is not a normal manner for insects to travel in the warter column. Casting up and across, with good line management, will put far more fishh on the hook than swinging the fly across and down.

  • you are the re-incarnation of E.M. T^odd

you confirmed all i know about upstream wet fly fishing

    all good thanks for posting

  • @alim010 Old style wet flies, or "spiders." Basically soft hackle style patterns with lots of movement.
