@timsk no, i think the a380 is much better looking than a 747
and the 'terrible wake' isnt that bad, at heathrow it doesnt effect the running that much, its not like it takes 20 minutes more for it to settle, its not a big issue at all.

well the A380 is huge and it'll do what it says.. accomodate a whole lot of passengers, but they have some weaknesses. It is limited to certain airports atm due to its wingspan and it leaves a terrible wake behind making planes in line wait longer than it would for a 747.
The 787 can be used at any conventional airport and it has a lot of the latest engine technology including the serrated engine cowlings. Lookswise, i'd take it over the A380.
