So here it is - the full version of what I filmed for the "Who Is Carolyn?" contest that Black Veil Brides was hosting on www.thepublicrecord.com. This version came out twenty times better than the cut version for the contest, in my opinion, at least, haha. :p

Cast:
"Carolyn" - Christa Angelios
"Andy Six (now)" - Kevin Bao
"Ashley Purdy" - Shannon Armstrong
"Jinxx" - Kaja Durkis
"Christian Coma (CC)" - Linnea
"Jake Pitts" - Laura Freeman
"Lightning Thunderstein" - Shannon Armstrong
"Sweeny Todd" - Michael Apers
"Jim Jam" - Laura Freeman
"Andy Six (young)" - Vincent Mendoza
"Chance" - Alex
"Eskimo Person 1" (on the right side of the screen) - Chame
"Eskimo Person 2" (the left side) - Riaan Engelbrecht
"Mrs. Lovett" - Kevin Saavedra
"Mortician's Daughter" - Shannon Armstrong

Also, special thanks to Andy Six for actually being willing to sign my fake banana for the submission when I saw him in concert - officially one of my most prized possessions. :p

I figured I'd put a little blurb about finding out more about me for the "Carolyn" contest.

I made up the "Carolyn warpaint" that I'm wearing throughout the video. The tears represent the troubles and problems that we all go through and out of those arises sun rays - because that's what Carolyn represents, the hope within and from the pain. The rays cross to make an "X" in the center of the forehead because that signifies the fact that Carolyn is centered - she's using her brain (which is right where the "X" is) and her heart (which is the "center" of our emotional selves.) The "=" on the cheek is for the equality and peace that Carolyn represents and hopes to bring. The stitch mark is a BVB thing. :)

So, my video is a spoof of the "Chance and Andy" videos, mainly because I loved those videos and thought they were fun and hilarious and I wanted to do something different for my submission, besides sit there and talk for five minutes. As you can see, I actually wound up with a whole lot more clips than the five minutes would allow. I spent about two weeks filming it and about nineteen hours editing it. It would have taken only about thirteen hours to edit, but due to annoying Macs, the six hours worth of editing I had done when I first started out got deleted, so I re-did it and got it posted. :)

But other than that, just like many others entering the contest, Black Veil Brides and their message means the world to me. They basically fill the space where my friends would come in when I can't be around or talk to my friends. Growing up, I've found that my friends are the most important people in my life, and I probably wouldn't be alive if it weren't for them being there for me and helping me through the rough times. I have three main things that I turn to when I need something to get me through, and those are my writing, my friends, and my music. So you can imagine how much BVB means to me. I did this video to represent the randomness and pure hilarity of the band members, but We Stitch These Wounds means more than that. It came out when I needed it most, while I was on vacation with my family, whom I don't have the best history with. I was away from home, stuffed in a car for seven or more hours a day with a couple of people whom I don't get along with very well, and BVB was there to pick me up. We Stitch These Wounds is a journey - beginning with heartache, deception, feeling lost and like a "child of the damned," and ending with a sense of being, of knowing who you are and being proud, coming to terms with the world and knowing that there's a way to make it through all the hatred and the hurt. For me, the last three songs on the record - "Sweet Blasphemy," "Carolyn," and "Knives and Pens (Acoustic)" - were the most emotional, and they meant the most to me because they were what signified that survival, that living through the pain.

I heard We Stitch These Wounds for the first time when I needed it most, and I cried because the album, particularly those last three songs, described how I was feeling to the very last note and gave me some hope - it felt exactly like Andy wrote, here was this song that was written in time, when it was needed. "Carolyn" represents a character that embodies the entirety of the BVB Army and all that we are as outcasts. I'd be overwhelmed with joy if I could be chosen to represent her in the upcoming BVB video. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you guys have liked it! Best wishes and never give in! BVB Army forever! :)

Rates and comments - good and/or bad - are greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :)

  • Why did a man play ms. Lovette

  • @2BlueSkEyes Haha, that's more of an inside joke, more than anything. Kevin (Mrs. Lovette) had helped my friend and I before in another video when we needed a female lead role and couldn't find someone - so he offered to do it. His outfit is actually his Halloween costume from this last year, and I thought it'd be funny to have him use it to play Mrs. Lovette, as we really didn't have anyone else who wanted to do it. :p

  • not trying to be a dick or nuttin but it seems like you are trying to make fun of them with some of the stuff in this video

  • @scost62 Haha, we did it based off of some old videos Andy recorded with his friend Chance. Just look up "Andy and Chance" and you'll find them. :)

  • @anime2006gurl ik i have seen them but it didnt really seem like it was an audition more like u were trying to make a comedy sketch

  • @scost62 I had wanted to do something that would stand out for the contest, as others were just basically sitting and talking into their webcams. I decided I wanted to try something more fun and interesting than just sitting and talking about myself for five minutes, so that's when I came up with the idea to redo the Andy & Chance thing. :)

  • @bvbfan159 It's true "Bvbfan", Carolyn is Jake's mom and the song is about his mother's sickness.
