Many of our servals are former "pets", wild cat species NEVER make suitable "pets" and are often abandoned once the owners realise this. Big Cat Rescue is a non-profit educational sanctuary home to over 100 unwanted, abandoned and abused exotic big cats.

  • why does that one serval only have 3 legs :(

  • @spycher127 Desiree was found in the Arizona Desert, we believe that she was a former pet, her leg looks to have been surgically removed, for what reason we do not know, but we're sure it didn't happen after she was abandoned or escaped...

  • Do you fix your cats? It seems like having 18 all together would definitely increase the population of servals fairly quickly.

  • @MeechelleFTW Yes, any cats that live together are fixed, we do not breed at the sanctuary, we would rather use our resources to rescue cats in need.

  • @invisibleisolation We agree, it's so sad that these cats are being bred, especially when there are thousands off domestic cats being destroyed each day that are in need of homes :(

  • I love those names! Kalahari, Esmeralda, bongo, so many cool names!

  • My ginger tabby really enjoyed this video. Thanks!

  • @BigCatRescue i see...well hope you guys know that you guys are angels. i love what you do and i support it 100%. im a cat lover myself and i am more than grossed out that these big cats are living in horrid conditions.

  • @TheNipommu You're wrong, that's the simple answer these large, dangerous, wild animals do not belong in backyards and homes. Their wild instincts will always be there and they will always be dangerous and unpredictable. No matter what size enclosure you can provide it doesn't change the FACT that they do not belong in private possession.

  • @PotawatomiThunderNew you mean there are lots of wild cats living in backyards that appear "happy" again my point is these animals DO NOT belong in backyards and homes. People may have the best intentions when they purchase a cub but it's a huge commitment and circumstances change, it costs us $7500 per year to care for a tiger and they live to 20+ years. Not to mention all the escapes, attacks and deaths caused by these "pets" this crazy situation needs to end.
